Rüstkammer - Armoury, Dresden, Saxony, Germany.
Founded on the collections of the Saxon dukes and electors, the Dresden Armory (Rüstkammer) is considered one of the most valuable collections of weapons and historical costumes in the world. Rare weapons, horse harnesses, lances, swords, and daggers, depictions of tournaments, and portraits of princes from the 16th to 18th centuries—a total of approximately 1,300 exhibits from Europe and the East—document the history of the princely court of the modern era and vividly demonstrate the splendor of court celebrations. The origins of the collection date back to the 15th century, when Albrecht the Brave (1443-1500) founded the ducal armor collection in the Residence Palace.
The museum displays the works of famous masters:
Anton Peffenhauser, Augsburg, Germany.
Franz Grosschedel, Landshut, Germany.
