   The White Tower, built in 1100, stands in the center of the Tower of London on the banks of the River Thames. From the 14th to the 19th centuries, the Tower was used as a warehouse for military ammunition and weapons. In 1807, the White Tower's premises were converted into a display of armor and weapons. Today, it is a fully-fledged museum displaying the royal collection of armor and helmets produced by renowned workshops and craftsmen from Europe and Britain, as well as weapons such as swords, bows, halberds, pikes, maces, and crossbows.
