The Great Hall.
The Great Hall is the largest room in the castle. It is approximately 12 meters high, 19 meters long, and 14 meters wide, including window bays. It was first built in the 14th century, when a fire was lit in the center of the room with a hole in the roof to release smoke, and the walls contained small narrow windows and a few loopholes. The original hall would have been similar in size and grandeur, but the current Great Hall was restored in the 17th century to provide a ceremonial entrance for those visiting Warwick. It was largely restored in 1871 after a massive fire destroyed the old hall.
Today, the Great Hall is a romantic reimagining of a medieval hall and is intended to reflect the castle's extensive history. It contains the remains of the Earl's famous arms and a collection of armor acquired during the 19th century. It contains horse armor, polearms, rifles, ceremonial armor, and a suit of children's armor, among many other treasures.
