Saint Louis Art Museum, Saint Louis, Missouri, USA.
The Saint Louis Art Museum was founded in 1879, at the end of a decade when art museums opened in great cities across the eastern half of the United States. Its extensive collections testify to the inspirational and educational goals of its founder and the moral and democratic imperatives he embraced. What began as a collection of various plaster casts, electrotype reproductions, and other examples of good design in various media quickly grew into a large and diverse collection of original works of art spanning five millennia and six continents. Today, the quality and breadth of the museum's collection secure it a place among the finest institutions of its kind.
The museum displays the works of famous masters:
Anton Peffenhauser, Augsburg, Germany.
Pompeo della Cesa, Milan, Italy.
