Museo Nazionale del Palazzo di Venezia - Museum Palace Venezia, Roma, Città Metropolitana di Roma, Lazio, Repubblica Italiana.

The Armory Chamber of the Palazzo di Venezia National Museum was born from the collecting passion of Prince Ladislao Odescalchi (1846-1922), also known for founding the city of Ladispoli on the Lazio coast, which takes its name from him. Thus, this is not a noble armory, as was built over centuries in the Odescalchi family residences, although they were equipped with military artillery and defensive weapons, but a true collection created to satisfy the passion of the prince, a great connoisseur of arms of all times. Through contacts established with various Italian and European antique dealers, including the Englishman Samuel James Whawell and the Frenchman Louis Bacherau, Ladislao amassed a large number of weapons, primarily from Western Europe, joined by smaller, more diverse groups from the Middle and Far East. After his death in 1922, the collection was relocated by his nephew, Innocenzo, to the Roman palace in Piazza SS. Apostoli, displaying complete armor, defensive and offensive weapons, and firearms. The collection was registered in 1953, the year of Innocenzo's death, with approximately two thousand weapons. Twelve hundred were acquired by the Italian state in 1959, and the remainder were delivered to the Castello di Bracciano, where they remain to this day.
In the early 1960s, the Odescalchi collection was studied and reworked by Bruno Thomas, and from 1969 to 1981, it was exhibited in the monumental halls of the Palazzo Venezia under the supervision of Nolfo di Carpegna, who published his first catalog raisonné. Since 2003, part of the collection has been stored in the building (room 27), but the project for a new exhibition is in its final stages, which means that the remaining exhibition spaces will be reserved for the arsenal.

The museum displays the works of famous masters:

Kolman Helmschmidt, Augsburg, Germany.

Michel Witz, the Younger, Innsbruck, Austria.
