Západočeské muzeum v Plzni - Museum of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Plzeň, Plzeňský kraj, Česká republika.
The Pilsen Armory.
The Pilsen Armory is the largest preserved historical arsenal in the Czech Republic. It was founded in 1363 by the Czech King and Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV. The exhibition features firearms and armor from the late 14th to mid-17th centuries. A collection of Gothic rifles—hook-and-lock rifles—and a set of muskets from the Thirty Years' War are considered European rarities. The exhibition also includes a collection of stone portals from ruined Pilsen houses and a section of the original city walls. Preserved stonework and a large panoramic painting depicting the conquest of Pilsen by Arnošt Mansfeld in 1618 make the exhibition exceptional.
