Maglaj Fortress - Tvrđava Maglajska, Maglaj, Zenica-Doboj Canton, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The castle or fortress was built in the 13th century and it was the first medieval fortress that was later extended by the Turks. Despite its inaccessible position, towers, walls and tabia, loopholes and cannons, chess guns and Egyptian fuses, the fortress was briefly conquered on several occasions. The first time was during the burglary of the already mentioned Eugene of Savoy, then 100 years later when its defenders opened the gates to the imperial general Laudon, to do the same in 1850 and in front of Omer Pasha Latas who came to Bosnia to subdue his bey.
Next to Gradina is a clock tower that once housed a golden bell. However, its existence was not confirmed even by the conquerors, who could not have easily missed such a precious thing.
