The National Gallery of Art, founded as a gift from the nation, serves as a center for the visual arts, education, and culture. Our collection of more than 150,000 paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, photographs, prints, and drawings spans the history of Western art and showcases some of the triumphs of human creativity. The Gallery offers a full range of special exhibitions and free programs 363 days a year. The museum also houses two helmets, one of which is the Bourguignon by Giovanni Paolo Negroli.
