The castle has been a national museum since 1878. After three major restorations, the furnished rooms of the castle and gardens once again breathe a 17th-century atmosphere. The building and the presentation of a special medieval weapons collection demonstrate the importance of Muiderslot as the knight's castle of Count Floris V.
