   In 1883, twenty-five Minneapolis citizens founded the Minneapolis Society of Fine Arts, committing to bringing art to the life of their community. More than a century later, the museum they founded, the Minneapolis Institute of Art, has become a monument to a remarkable history of civic engagement and cultural achievement. The museum displays two suits of armor, a halberd, and two European swords.
