Gradenegg Castle - Burgruine Gradenegg, Carinthia, Carinthia, Republic of Austria.

The ruins were first documented in 1192. An earthquake severely damaged the castle in 1796, after which it was used as a stable and farm building. The core of the complex is a massive keep, around which farm buildings from the 14th and 15th centuries are grouped. The three-story palace to the west was extensively remodeled and expanded in the 16th century. The castle is surrounded by a 15th-century wall. The now largely dilapidated castle complex sits approximately 300 meters above the Glan valley floor on a low rocky knoll. The ruins are freely accessible.
