Weyer Castle - Schloss Weyer, Kematen an der Krems, Upper Austria, Republic of Austria.

Coming from Linz, Weyer Castle, a moated castle, lies at the northern entrance to the town. First documented in 1299 in the land register of Kremsmünster Abbey, the Fenzl von Paumgarten family united the estates of Piberbach and Weyer into a single lordship in 1596. After the ownership of the Kazian family, the Hager von Allentsteig family, and the Eyselsberg family, it reverted to Kremsmünster Abbey in 1769. In 1812, it was acquired by the Linz banker Franz Planck von Planckburg from the so-called Religious Fund estates. The main structure of the castle, with its false ashlar masonry, likely dates from the Renaissance period and underwent a slight Neo-Gothic remodeling in 1871, featuring a uniform russet plaster finish. The current "Lords of Weyer" are Alexander and [name missing]. Marion Planck, who uses the castle not only as a residence and headquarters for forestry, but also as an architecture and spatial planning office, which currently provides a workplace for six people.
