Biedenegg Castle - Schloss Biedenegg, Fliess, Tyrol, Republic of Austria.

Fliess, in the Landeck district, lies on a sunny terrace (1073 m) between Prutz and the town of Landeck. It is a village of Rhaeto-Romanic origin.

The first mention of "Viliess" which was already a parish at that time, dates back to 1220. Fließ's secular landmark is Biedenegg Castle at an altitude of 1142 m.

The initial structures of this castle were probably built during the Hohenstaufen era (1137–1268), representing the pinnacle of medieval castle construction, when Fließ was already a Thing site (assembly place).

Biedenegg was first documented around 1339 as the seat of Heinrich Potzner von "Pybenekke," likely a nobleman from the Lower Inn Valley family of Rottenburg, hence the double-tower coat of arms.
