Kaiserburg Nürnberg - Imperial Castle in Nuremberg, Nürnberg, Mittelfranken, Freistaat Bayern, Bundesrepublik Deutschland.

A collection of historical defensive and offensive weapons, such as body armor, firearms, staves, shields, and other accessories, illustrates how castle combat techniques changed over the centuries. The storm ladder and attack shield are unique testament to late medieval combat technologies. From the 16th century onward, firearms began to dominate the battlefield. Traditional weapons increasingly lost their original significance and were used as magnificent displays, including during imperial visits to Nuremberg.
Historical saddles, stirrups, bridles, and spurs are among the most underrated physical attributes required by rulers and their entourage in the Holy Roman Empire. To fulfill their duties, the head of the Reich had to travel vast distances in the face of wind and weather.
